Join Us for a Variety of Activities and Education. A typical club day includes community building activities, along with time to reflect, get creative, and explore the fun in living.

If you identify as a man, we encourage you to get involved as well. UNMUTE offers combined club activities, all-inclusive events, and opportunities for connection. Club Activities - Women and Genderqueer Identity

Turn It Into Art: Transforming emotions and experiences into creative expression through art, such as collages, painting, and other forms of media

Candle Making: Decorate a candle to take home while we talk about connection and other important topics

Pizza Social / Friendship Activities: Building community and fostering social connections through informal gatherings.

Yoga (Indoors and Outdoors): Reconnecting with the body and fostering mind-body alignment through guided practice.

Club Topics

The following is a broad overview of topics and discussions explored in club meetings:

  • Sexual Regrets: Processing feelings of regret in a safe, supportive environment to reflect on past experiences and learn from them.
  • Let’s Talk About Clothes: A conversation not focused on clothing, but on underlying social and cultural messages.
  • Rape Culture: Raising awareness and fostering understanding of systemic issues related to sexual violence.
  • It Wasn’t Your Fault: Emphasizing that responsibility for sexual assault lies solely with the perpetrator, not the survivor. 
  • But I “Didn’t” Say No… (…You Didn’t Say Yes): Exploring the complexities of consent in various contexts, including relationships, casual encounters, and flings, and promoting a culture of affirmative consent. 
  • Body Language and Consent: Learning to recognize and interpret non-verbal cues to foster mutual understanding and respect. 
  • Express Yourself (Boldly): Encouraging self-expression, such as wearing an outfit that confidently asserts presence.
  • Let’s Take Up Space: Empowering participants to occupy space physically and metaphorically with confidence. 
  • Partners and Friends: Highlighting the importance of consent within committed relationships, casual encounters, and friendships.
  • Enraged (Collaboration with the Boxing Team): Providing a controlled environment to channel and release anger safely. 
  • Who Am I? (Understanding Psychological Effects): Exploring the psychological impact of trauma and how it shapes personal identity.
  • Self-Forgiveness: Discussing the process of letting go of self-blame and cultivating self-compassion as part of healing.
  • Moving Forward (Transforming Pain): Focusing on converting past pain into personal growth and empowerment, with strategies for a positive future. 
  • Pornography, Addiction, and Self-Perception: Raising awareness of the effects of pornography on self-image and relationships, based on research and open discussion, without judgment or prescriptive advice.
  • Fight. Flight. Freeze (Understanding the Body’s Reactions): Examining neurological and physiological responses to trauma and stress in a safe context.
